We often hear the boring phrase “abstract thinking” and interpret this characteristic as something vague and banal.

But for the analysts, the skill of identifying abstract entities of a subject area, switching between them and building logical models is a very specific and important hard skill.


In this talk, we will try to understand when and how an analyst works with abstractions, what typical mistakes we frequently make, how this affects the logical data model and architectural decisions, and how we can deal with the corresponding problems.
